Summer at this time of year presents us with its full bounty of fruit and vegetables . Trinity Retreat Center will be sharing a sampling of their abundant crop this weekend which includes Romain Lettuce , Heirloom Tomatoes , Tomatilios , Peppers and so much more . It is that peachy time of year . The Ladies of the Chapel of all Saints will have Redhaven peaches and some Zestar apples as well as their fabulous jellies and jams . This Saturday perhaps some jalapeno jelly.

Roxann is going to have the usual, pastured pork hot and sweet Italian in casings or loose, bacon,loin chips, pork tenderloin, shoulder steaks (great for grilling), breakfast sausage in patties or loose. For grass-fed/finished beef she has ground, stew beef, short ribs, roasts, rib roasts, chuck and sirloin. She has a few chickens left and also will have garlic and pears.

Cassis Jelly! If you have ever picked black currants you can appreciate the fact that each 8 oz. jar of jelly contains over a half pound of these delicious, tart jewel of a berry. Stop by and taste this yummy and very special offering. Very limited supply.

In response to a customer request the Chapel of All Saints is offering a Rhubarb-Orange Jam this week…a very tasty combination If you have a favorite jam let them know and they will try to make some for you. You are just beginning to see peaches from Georgia in the supermarkets; we hope local peaches will be available in the next 2 weeks so they can start offering various peach jams. This is a great year for black currants so they will have Crème de Cassis by Ag Fair time and some black currant jams in the next week or so. Again, if you have a favorite combo let them know by stopping by their booth and letting them know… they will try to make what you want.We Also available will be some very tasty Trinity granola. Each week is a bit different as Heidi makes it fresh each week, but it is always delicious!

In her Jamlady Cookbook, author Beverly Alfred, refers to this Sour Cherry-Apple Jam with Almond Extract as the “tart jam for your morning toast”. The Chapel of all Saints will have some samples so come by and try this very unique offering.

For a super easy and delicious roasted chicken just brush a whole chicken with olive oil and sprinkle with the salt mixture inside and out and put the chicken in your gas grill and close the lid for one hour. Picture perfect, juicy, delicious roast chicken!!

They will also be offering some of Joe and Emilie Pryor’s delicious salad dressing.

The Chapel of All Saints will have in addition to a number of rhubarb specialties more of their blueberry rhubarb jam that is made with local blueberries from Ann Gold‘s garden.Their initial batch of blueberry rhubarb jam sold out quickly but they were fortunate that Ann located some additional blueberries she had frozen last summer so they were able to make more of this popular item. They will also be offering some of Joe and Emilie Pryor’s delicious salad dressing.

Happy Memorial Day weekend ! Celebrate with lovely floral arrangements by Margaret Tully .
The Ladies and Gentlemen from the Chapel of all Saints note that if you come early you might find that there is a jar of one of their unusual jam offerings left… Rhubarb Jam with Mezcal (smokey tequila), lime, honey (locally produced) and black pepper. A unique offering that has garnered a loyal following among those brave enough to try it! If it is gone when you get to the table, just let them know you are interested and they will try to have more in the coming weeks.
As Rhubarb is the first crop of the season and they are offering it in several different offerings this week including a Rhubarb Jam with fresh and crystallized ginger, Rhubarb Marmalade made with oranges and lemons and a Rhubarb Chutney that will take your chicken or pork dish and turn a simple dinner entrée into a special treat!
If you think you don’t like rhubarb stop by for taste…you might be pleasantly surprised!
Also available will be Julia Scott’s Seville Orange Marmalade in 8, 12 and pint size jars… yours before they are all gone!

For our first Market of the Season Margaret Tully will have flower seedlings and Kerria bouquets .
Last year sales of jams, chutneys and salad dressings enabled the Chapel of All Saints to contribute over $6000 to food related charities. They are excited to again offer a variety of homemade delicious offerings.
Back in February when the snow was covering the ground here in Cornwall, Seville oranges were ripening in Florida. They ordered some and have turned them into Julia Scott’s famous Seville orange marmalade. If you’ve been eager to re-stock your orange marmalade supply come by and they’ll have some for you...but they always sell out so come early ! Also being offered will be some rhubarb specialties so come by and get your first taste of spring!!
